From obituary: Bettie was born Feb. 1, 1925, in Ludington, Mich., where she was raised. She met Tom Lampe in Florida where he was stationed in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. A longtime Arlington resident, Bettie was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was a secretary and admission counselor for Arlington State College and the University of Texas at Arlington Biology Department for many years. An avid Texas Rangers Fan, she also enjoyed needle point and sewing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Arden Lampe, on Oct. 17, 1998. Survivors: Son, Carl T. Lampe and wife, Kimberly, of Fort Worth; sister, Donna Branstner of Dandridge, Tenn.; grandchildren, Thomas Jerod Lampe and Brittany Suzanne Lampe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
